Orvieto

Located in the southwest of Umbria, Orvieto has been constructed on a on the flat summit of a large butte of volcanic tuff, which ranges among the most dramatic locations in Europe.

The city, which counts about 21.000 inhabitants today, has its roots in Etruscan times. This enables you to find traces of each era of the last 3.000 years there. One of the most special sights in Orvieto is the labyrinth of caves and tunnels constructed directly under the city, as well as the cathedral, which is one of the most beautiful examples of 13th century architecture in Italy.

A language holiday in this car-free haven provides you with the opportunity to get an understanding of Italian culture and history and at the same time you will be able to improve your language skills.
