In the following, you may find various suggestions that enable your students to gain part of the costs of their language travel themselves. We are happy to provide you with assitance in the organsiation of such projects!

Buffet at the parent-teacher-day: A buffet in the auditorium of your school providing snacks like sandwiches, cakes, coffee and juices on parent-teacher-day can refill the class treasury fast and easily. And parents will appreciate a little refreshmet between meetings!

Flee market: Many things that one doesn't use anymore may be of great value for others. If every pupil provides the class with things that have become useless to her/him, a considerable pool may be established. Those things can then be sold in school breaks and free periods. There will be a lot of interested customers for sure! 

Rent a student: Pupils have a lot of potential - and they could use it in the framework of a "rent a student"-project. On the basis of a fixed hourly rate, they could give private lessons, mow the lawn, clean cars, or baby-sit etc. Just create an attractive flyer and distribute it in the neighbourhood. Through those activities pupils will get to know new people, will learn by experience and save money for the class treasury.

Pupil's magazine: Something's always happening in school. So, why not write about it? Through editing a magazine, pupils will gain journalistic knowledge like research, composition and style of writing. Additionally, their awareness concerning the production of media production will be raised. And through selling the paper, they can finance part of their language travel.

Cookbook, travel guide etc.: If regular issues of a pupil's magazine are beyond the students' capacities, they could instead edit a cookbook. Each students can contribute his favourite dish and the result is an exciting collection of recipes. As a variation, the pupils could also write kind of a travel guide about their city by writing short articles about her/his favourite places.
